Chad “Scoop” Mallen Confirms Return for Spring 2026 Season
Defenses across the ETFL have a new problem heading into Spring 2026 – and it just became official.
Veteran quarterback Chad “Scoop” Mallen has confirmed his return.
A staple in the touch and flag football scene for over two decades, Mallen brings with him not just experience, but a résumé that speaks for itself. From his time with TFONT with teams like the Dirty Birds, Reapers, Trojans, and Bullets, to his championship pedigree, “Scoop” has consistently proven he belongs among the elite.
And elite is exactly what he is.
Mallen’s trophy case includes a 2018 “AA” National Championship (TFONT), a 2024 “BB National” Championship (TFONT), and back-to-back ETFL Fall Championships in 2022 and 2023. Simply put – when he’s on the field, his teams win.
But stats and accolades only tell part of the story.
What separates Scoop is his command of the game. A true field general, he prides himself on dissecting defenses, spreading the ball, and elevating those around him.
“Use the whole field, spreading the touches to open guys based on the coverage. When you play with Scoop, you score touchdowns.”
That confidence isn’t just talk – it’s backed by a leadership style rooted in trust and connection. Mallen is known for building relationships with his teammates, learning what drives them, and creating a culture that players buy into. It’s that approach that has helped him consistently get the best out of every roster he leads.
After missing a significant portion of last season due to a knee injury, Mallen now returns with something to prove.
“I want to redeem myself and put that trophy back on my mantle.”
If history is any indication, that’s a dangerous mindset for the rest of the league.
So how does he sum up his game in one word?
“Handsome”
Confidence. Leadership. Championships.
Chad “Scoop” Mallen is back – and the road to a Spring 2026 title just got a lot more interesting.
