Founded in 2015 by Kevin McNeill, Robert “Buzz” Bezzant, and Stu McNeill, the Eastern Touch Football League was created with one goal in mind: to build a better recreational touch football experience. The founders believed that players deserved a league that balanced competition, organization, and community — a place where athletes could enjoy the game at a high level while still embracing the spirit of recreation.
Since its launch, the league has proudly operated both Spring and Fall seasons every year, giving players consistent opportunities to compete, improve, and stay connected to the game they love.
Over the years, the league has grown into one of the most competitive men’s recreational touch football leagues in Canada. A key part of that success comes from our draft league format, which is designed to create balance and parity across all teams. Each season begins with a draft that distributes talent evenly, ensuring every team has a genuine chance to compete for the championship.
This format keeps the league exciting, unpredictable, and highly competitive — while also allowing new players to integrate seamlessly into the community.
Today, the Eastern Touch Football League continues to thrive thanks to the passion of its players, captains, and organizers. What started as a small idea among friends has grown into a respected league built on competition, sportsmanship, and a shared love for the game.
