Playoff Weekend delivered chaos, drama, an offensive explosion and one massive upset. Now, just four teams remain with a championship within reach.
The Eastern Touch Football League postseason has officially reached the business end.
Team Jeff survived what may have been the greatest game of the season. Team Clarke took advantage of an exhausted opponent and continued its late-season surge. And Team Toi pulled off the biggest upset of the weekend, sending Team Heaney home and completely reshaping the Championship Weekend picture.
Now, the road to the ETFL championship runs through two semifinal matchups:
Team Clarke vs. Team Glavic
Team Toi vs. Team Pacas
One team is chasing a third straight championship. Another is trying to complete an improbable late-season run. And one undefeated powerhouse is attempting to finish what it started.
But first, let’s look back at how we got here.
GAME 1 | 9:00 AM
THE GAME OF THE SEASON
Calling this a shootout doesn’t do it justice.
This was the game of the season so far.
With the exception of one Team Scoop possession that featured back-to-back drops and ultimately resulted in a turnover on downs, virtually every drive in this game ended with points.
It was offensive football at its absolute finest — or defensive football at its absolute worst.
We’ll let the coaches decide.
Team Jeff and Team Scoop traded punches from the opening whistle, with both quarterbacks putting on an absolute clinic.
Jeff Paras and Scoop Mallen combined for an incredible 12 touchdowns and converts, with Paras accounting for seven touchdowns/converts for Team Jeff and Mallen producing five for Team Scoop.
But when the game needed a difference-maker, Kearaun Francis answered the call.
Francis was virtually unstoppable, finding the end zone four times while adding three 1-point conversions.
That performance earned him Playoff Weekend MVP and helped Team Jeff escape with a 47-35 victory.
Team Scoop wasn’t going quietly.
Tristan Smith found the end zone three times and added a conversion, while Domenic Gnurlantino contributed a touchdown and convert. Brent Shepherd added another touchdown and a 2-point conversion.
But that one stalled possession proved enormous.
In a game decided by 12 points, Team Scoop’s inability to finish that drive became the difference between advancing and going home.

Defensive Player of the Game: Apparently Nobody
In what may have been the most honest defensive stat line of the season, neither team appeared particularly interested in playing defense.
And honestly? We can’t blame them.
This one was too much fun.
GAME 2 | 10:30 AM
JEFF RUNS OUT OF GAS
Just 90 minutes after surviving the game of the season, Team Jeff had to turn around and do it all over again.
Unfortunately for Jeff, there simply wasn’t enough left in the tank.
Team Jeff entered the game with a short bench and had already been pushed to its limits against Team Scoop. They did exactly what they needed to do in Game 1 — survive and advance — but the price was steep.
Team Clarke, meanwhile, looked like a completely different animal.
Dialed in from the opening whistle, Clarke continued its recent offensive surge, putting up 32 points and marking another week in which the team eclipsed the 30-point mark.
At the center of it all was quarterback Germaine Clarke, who continued to look completely comfortable under center.
Clarke distributed touchdowns and conversions to five different players, spreading the ball around and keeping the Team Jeff defense constantly guessing.
Matthew Singh, Connor Tamblyn, Adrian McIntosh and Luca Cairns Celebre all found the end zone, while Tamblyn and Nim Jenikovszky added conversions.
For Jeff, Francis and Chevalier had little opportunity to replicate their Game 1 heroics.
Francis managed two 1-point conversions, while Chevalier scored the team’s lone touchdown. Tashaun Brady also came up with an interception.
But by then, the damage had already been done.
Team Clarke was rolling. Team Jeff was running on fumes.
And now Clarke has earned the biggest opportunity of its season.

GAME 3 | 12:00 PM
THE UPSET OF THE WEEK
If you had Team Toi advancing to the semifinals, congratulations.
You were either incredibly confident or incredibly lucky.
Because this was, without question, the upset of Playoff Weekend.
On paper, the matchup heavily favoured Team Heaney.
Team Toi entered the playoffs tied for third in the league in scoring, averaging roughly 26 points per game offensively.
The problem?
They had also been giving up approximately 40 points per game defensively.
That doesn’t exactly scream playoff contender.
But something has changed.
Through Seeding Weekend and now Playoff Weekend, Team Toi has begun to find its identity at exactly the right time.
And on Saturday, they put it all together.
Team Heaney was also missing superstar Joe MacDonald, while Team Toi entered the matchup without Jordan Campbell and Aaron Karamath.
Neither team was at full strength.
But when the ball was snapped, Team Toi simply looked like the better team.
They controlled the game, held Team Heaney to just 15 points, and walked away with a 26-15 victory that nobody saw coming.
More importantly, they have now proven that their late-season surge is no fluke.
Team Toi is peaking.
And they couldn’t have picked a better time to do it.

This is the toughest game on the board to handicap.
Team Clarke comes into Championship Weekend absolutely rolling. They’ve put together consecutive strong offensive performances, and they just put 32 points on Team Jeff immediately after Jeff survived the morning’s offensive war.
Germaine Clarke is playing some of his best football of the season, and perhaps most importantly, he’s distributing the ball extremely well.
But standing across from him is Marko Glavic.
And that’s where this becomes incredibly difficult.
Glavic is the back-to-back ETFL champion and, quite simply, one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in league history.
Why Clarke Can Win
Momentum.
Clarke is playing confident football at exactly the right time. The offense is clicking, Germaine Clarke is distributing the ball, and the team is coming off a dominant performance.
They aren’t simply surviving.
They’re rolling.
Why Glavic Can Win
Championship experience.
This is where the defending champion gets the edge.
Glavic has been here before.
More importantly, he’s won here before — twice.
If this game comes down to a final possession, there’s nobody I’d want less to see with the ball than Glavic.

This is where the sportsbook gets significantly more aggressive.
Team Pacas enters Championship Weekend as the undefeated powerhouse and the clear favourite to reach the championship game.
Team Toi, however, is becoming the tournament’s Cinderella story.
After spending much of the season struggling defensively, Toi has suddenly figured something out.
They’ve now won through Seeding Weekend and Playoff Weekend, and their 26-15 upset of Team Heaney was arguably the most impressive result of the weekend.
That’s two straight weeks of Team Toi playing their best football when the pressure is highest.
And that makes this matchup much more interesting than the numbers might suggest.
Why Pacas Can Win
They’re undefeated for a reason.
Pacas has been the most consistent team in the league from start to finish.
They’ve scored points at an elite rate, found ways to win, and haven’t suffered the kind of collapse that has plagued some of the other contenders.
This is the team everyone has been chasing.
And now they’re one win away from the championship game.
Why Toi Can Win
Momentum.
If this game were played three weeks ago, the odds would probably be even wider.
But this isn’t three weeks ago.
Team Toi is playing with confidence.
They’ve gone from a team that was surrendering roughly 40 points per game defensively to one that just held Heaney to 15.
That’s a massive transformation.
And the most dangerous team in a single-elimination tournament is often the team that has nothing to lose.
