ETFL Week 4 Guest Picker: Aaron Karamath’s Against-the-Spread Predictions

Week 4 brings another slate of marquee matchups, and this week’s guest picker is Aaron Karamath. Never one to shy away from a bold prediction, Karamath breaks down all four games with a mix of football analysis, insider chatter, and a couple of upset specials.

Team Glavic (-11.5) vs. Team Jeff

Pick: Team Glavic -11.5
Total: Over 47.5

Team Glavic has looked every bit like the league’s championship favourite through four weeks, and Karamath doesn’t see that changing anytime soon.

“Team Glavic is firing on all cylinders right now,” Karamath said. “With Marko Glavic under center, the offense has been nearly flawless. They’re moving the ball with precision, finishing drives, and putting constant pressure on opposing defenses.”

Despite backing Glavic to cover the sizeable spread, Karamath believes Team Jeff’s offense is capable of answering.

“I’m not convinced the Glavic defense completely shuts down Jeff’s offense, so I expect both teams to put points on the board. That makes the over feel like one of the stronger plays of the week.”

Prediction: Team Glavic covers, and the game comfortably clears 47.5 points.

Team Scoop (-5.5) vs. Team Clarke

Pick: Team Clarke +5.5
Total: Under 49.5

After suffering a disappointing loss last week, Karamath expects Team Clarke to respond with one of their strongest performances of the season.

“I think Clarke bounces back in a big way,” he said. “This feels like a one-score game from start to finish.”

While Scoop enters as the favourite, Karamath believes missed conversions or a late defensive stop could easily determine whether the spread is covered.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Clarke pulls off the upset. If you’re looking for value, their moneyline is definitely worth a look.”

With both defenses expected to tighten up, Karamath is also leaning toward the under.

Prediction: Team Clarke covers, with upset potential, in a defensive battle.

Team Toi (+155) vs. Team Heaney

Pick: Team Toi Moneyline (+155)
Total: Under 46.5

This may be Karamath’s boldest prediction of the week.

“Let’s be honest—Team Toi’s defense has looked like Swiss cheese at times this season,” he joked. “But every season has that game where everything clicks, and I think this could be it.”

Rather than taking the points, Karamath is going all-in on the upset.

“I’m betting the defense finally rises to the occasion. If they can force a few turnovers and get a couple key stops, I think Toi has a legitimate shot to steal this one.”

He’s also expecting a slower-paced game, making the under another play he likes.

Prediction: Team Toi pulls off the upset in one of Week 4’s biggest surprises.

Team Pacas (-10.5) vs. Team Toi

Pick: Team Toi +10.5
Lean: Team Pacas Moneyline
Total: Under 50.5

Karamath may be taking Team Toi against the spread, but he admits this game has the potential to get out of hand.

“I’ve been hearing that Pacas is feeling rejuvenated—almost 10 years younger,” Karamath said with a laugh. “For the first time in what feels like forever, he’ll have several of his key offensive weapons available.”

One name he’s particularly watching is The Baadmon, Anthony Barrett.

“The Baadmon is giving Pacas flashbacks to the old Hounds-Pinto days. He’s the type of player who can completely take over a game at any moment.”

The insider reports don’t stop there.

“My sources also tell me Pacas believes he has the best center in the league right now in Chris Fealy, and he’s planning to lean on that advantage all game long.”

While Karamath is taking the points with Team Toi, he believes Pacas is still the safer bet to win outright.

“This game could snowball quickly if Pacas gets rolling early. I’d probably take Team Toi with the points, but if you’re playing the winner, Pacas on the moneyline feels like the safer play.”

Prediction: Team Toi keeps it within the number, but Team Pacas survives and wins outright.
